Illustrated throughout in black and white as well as multicolored ink drawings, incredibly detailed, rendered from dissections and formalin preserved organs. This type of medical illustration can now be considered a lost art. Bindings sound, text and illustrations clean and unmarked, some rubbing to edges and corners of cloth with an ink spot and faded tape marks at corners to cloth and endpapers. Front enpapers are gift inscribed to and from with date. This second English Edition is translated by Lewellys F. Barker from the Fourth German Edition. Vol. I : Bones, Joints, Ligaments.
